“Enclosed is a small gift to thank you for a really excellent trip. Looking forward to catching up with you again in the last 2 weeks of May. Both my mates are coming down again. I didn't have to ask them twice. I will get in touch by e-mail closer to the time”. – Paul, Waiuku.
“Just a short note to say a big thank you. We had a great time and were very happy with the chamois heads we got. Your help and service was tops. We are hooked and hope to try again for the big bucks- maybe at their rut period next time”- Malcolm, Keith & Tony.
“Your company flew me and my friend from Blenheim into Stoney Creek on St. James Station, in the middle of last year. I was successful in getting a very nice chamois buck at just a shade over 10 inches which turned out to have a Douglas Score of 27.25. As it so happened the head won at local NZDA level and was forwarded to the national competition where it once again was judged the best in its class and won the McConachie Shield”. – Mark, Waimauku.
Hi Tony & Darron; I just wanted to thank you again for facilitating an awesome trip away the other week. The service that you and Darron provided us was brilliant – we have flown to various places with various operators a lot over the last 20 or so years and we were very impressed with how friendly and helpful you both were. We were also blown away about how good the hunting was once we got up around the Yanks Hill area – and the good luck with settled weather certainly helped. I am certain that we will be back!!!! - Best regards Chris Ellicott, Mike and Jason. 13-2oth November 2010
”Many thanks for your help in looking for one of our mates at EskHead the other week. You flying skills were really appreciated. All the best!”- Richard
“Brendan and I wish to thank you very much for the magical helicopter ride on our wedding day. We decided to keep the helicopters as a surprise for everyone including our bridal party. When the first helicopter flew into Acheron Accomodation House (where we got married) everyone looked in amazement ... wondering what it was doing. Brendan and I were whisked off after completing a circle over all of our guests. We were flown on a beautiful scenic ride to the top of St James Station, where we had our photos. Everyone was walking on cloud nine after their ride. We had a lovely picnic, a few drinks, and more wonderful photos on top of a mountain taking in the magic of the views. I cannot say enough times how the helicopter ride made our wedding perfect! I would recommend to anyone to use Amuri Helicopters for your wedding, as the photos are amazing and it is a huge buzz. Thank you Tony for looking after us so well, you really made our day for us. Thank you very much.” -Pip and Brendan.
“I am writing on behalf of the Cheviot Home and School to thank you for your sponsorship of the Parnassus/Cheviot Pig Hunt. Your donation was used for a major prize in the Heaviest Boar. It is expected that in excess of $7000 was raised from the pig hunt, and without the generosity of our sponsors this would not have been possible.” - Rose Stevenson - Chairperson, Cheviot Home and School
“On behalf of the Hanmer Springs Volunteer Fire Brigade, I would like to sincerely thank you for your kind support for our recent sponsorship drive. Due to the ongoing commitment of a number of people and business in town, we have been able to achieve our goal. We continue to proudly serve the community and thank all those that help make our job easier.” - SFF Glenn Daniels - Hanmer Springs Fire Brigade
“Hanmer Springs Rugby club would like to say a huge thank you for the wonderful fundraising event you ran over Queens Birthday weekend. We were blown away by the response we received to the scenic flights over Hanmer Springs. You and your staff were truly amazing in organising such a successful event. The very reasonable rates you were charging made it a very popular event and it was unfortunate that the weather was against us on the Monday.” - Kathryn Duncan Secretary Hanmer Springs Rugby Club
REFERENCE FROM LANDWARD MANAGEMENT
To whom it may concern.
Background and history
Amuri Helicopters limited has been providing biosecurity management and control services to LINZ and private clients of Landward Management Limited for eight years. The nature of the works is gorse and broom spraying, wilding pine control and aquatic weed control. The Company also uses Amuri Helicopters from time to time for inspection duties on difficult sites.
Amuri Helicopters work on projects, for Landward, throughout New Zealand completing an extensive series of aquatic weed control works throughout the central North Island, Central Otago, Waitaki Lakes in addition to a large number of strategically important terrestrial weed operations throughout Canterbury and Marlborough.
Amuri Helicopters is an approved contractor in the sense that it meets and exceeds the requirements established by the company to carry out Crown funded control works. The requirements relate to relevant experience and qualifications, safe operational planning, insurances, past work history, reliability, field reporting, risk management, soundness of biosecurity project management and knowledge of good biosecurity management principles.
Performance
Amuri Helicopters is one of Landwards most valuable contractors. The Company consistently performs to the highest of standards in field work results, reporting, safety and timely performance. It is acutely aware of factors that may affect field results and exercises good sound biosecurity management principles and techniques to ensure the highest standard of output. The Company has always been at the forefront of aviation and general work innovation and safety.
Summary
Landward has no hesitation in recommending Amuri Helicopters Limited to any organisation that may be considering using its various services. As a result of several years experience in managing one of the larger biosecurity management programmes undertaken within New Zealand Landward is in a unique position to assess the merits of many aviation and ground based weed spraying operations. Currently Landward has over two hundred and fifty biosecurity sites under management throughout New Zealand involving in excess of sixty approved contractors. All contractors perform to a good standard but if they were to be ranked for overall performance including value for money, technical and management knowledge, safety and documentation Amuri Helicopters would in my opinion lead the rankings.

REFERENCE FROM LANDWARD MANAGEMENT
To whom it may concern,
Amuri Helicopters has been a registered pest control contractor for Landward Management for over a decade. Services performed by Amuri Helicopters include extensive gorse, broom and aquatic weed control (lagarosiphon and hornwort) in lakes throughout New Zealand. Weed control has been predominantly in Crown riverbeds and lakebeds administered by LINZ.
Landward considers Amuri Helicopters to be one of the most reliable and effective contractors it has dealt with. All work undertaken by Amuri Helicopters has been carried out with a high level of professionalism, and results have always been impressive.
Of particular value is Amuri Helicopters skills and experience in the aquatic weed control. Through using specially adapted boom spraying equipment, Amuri Helicopters can be relied upon to consistently produce effective aquatic weed die back on any of the lakes it is asked to work on. They can also be relied on to carry out the control in a fast, efficient and safe manner that limits disturbance to lake users and others. This is particularly relevant when working in built up areas such as Lake Dunstan.
I have always found that Amuri Helicopters, and Tony Michelle in particular, has communicated well with Landward, and work has always been completed within the required time and to a high standard. I have found Tony to be highly competent and trustworthy, and have seen him demonstrate the ability to manage effectively large scale works on multiple sites.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Amuri Helicopters to any agency, organization or private entity should they require weed control to be undertaken. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Yours Sincerely

REFERENCE FROM MIGHTY RIVER POWER LTD
Dear Sir or Madam,
Amuri Helicopters were contracted to Mighty River Power Ltd in January 2009 to spray 109 hectares over four of our hydro lakes, with Diquat and Gel. Although the location of the hydro sites for helicopter access was difficult, their professional approach towards safety was not compromised at any time.
Our confidence in their ability was assured and they worked parallel with our timetable to ensure our key stakeholders were not inconvenienced at any time. Amuri Helicopters provided prompt and efficient service in respect to the follow up reports and the spray area mapping.
I have found the crew at Amuri Helicopters to be very organized and approachable, and recommend them as a quality professional business.
I am more than happy to engage Amuri Helicopters to quote any future work that Mighty River Power Ltd may have.
Yours Faithfully
