HANMER SPRINGS HELICOPTER’S OPERATIONAL AREA

Hanmer Springs Helicopter operations are centered in the Hanmer Springs Basin region, and encompass a large section of the surrounding area from Rangiora in the south, up to Kaikoura, then across to the Southern Alps in the west. Click here to view our interactive location map. 

This area covers some of the most beautiful country in New Zealand, with such diversity of scenery and terrain. It covers some of the most rugged and spectacular terrain in the country—indeed the world, including both mountain and seacoast, and yet also provides the pleasantness of both forest and vineyard. Spring, summer, autumn and winter—each provides a different attraction and experience for the sightseer, tourist, hunter, fisherman, skier, tramper, or naturalist. 

The area is a microcosm for a great range of tourist and recreational attractions.
